Miller McConnell Signs was founded on a vision of hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. The story began in the early 1990s when Jim Miller approached Craig McConnell with the idea of creating a sign company. With a shared passion for the industry, they launched Vinylgraphics Custom Signs in 1992, a franchise within an Ontario-wide chain.

Armed with a 15″ vinyl plotter, two computers, and a month of training, Jim and Craig quickly made their mark in the sign business. By 1993, they hired their first employee, and by 1994, their growing team and commitment to exceptional service and quality soon earned them multiple Franchise of the Year awards and made them top sales performers, setting a tradition of excellence that would continue for years to come.

As the business expanded, so did its potential. In 2002, as their partnership with the Toronto-based franchisor drew to a close, the duo moved into a larger facility to accommodate their growing business. Around this time, Craig, who had been with Jim since the company’s inception, became a full partner, setting the stage for the next chapter.

With a new space and a restructured ownership, the time had come for a new identity. Drawing inspiration from loyal clients, they rebranded to Miller McConnell Signs, reflecting both their evolution and their strong foundation.

Today, Miller McConnell Signs stands as Ottawa’s premier full-service sign company, offering comprehensive services from sales and estimating to planning and design, project management, production, delivery, and installation. Our team members are experts in producing event and trade show graphics, custom window treatments and wall murals, property management signs, wayfinding and Braille & Tactile signs, construction signs, and much more.

After 22 years of industry leadership, Jim Miller retired in May 2014, passing the torch to Craig, who took full ownership to uphold the company’s tradition of excellence and dedication to its customers.
